Freshmen inflict first match defeat on Highwaymen.
Freshmen too consistent on night for Highwaymen
Highwaymen only able to take 3 points in disappointing first
match.
Freshmen 419 - Highwaymen 402.
Highwaymen return to winning ways with a 14 points to 6 win over
fellow Anchor Inn team (Fat Anchors).
Trevor Davis produces match winning spare to secure win.
Highwaymen 430 - Fat Anchors 422
Highwaymen unable to quell the
Rushwick fire as Cavaliers are too hot for Highwaymen
Rushwick have one of the best records of any team
against the Highwaymen and again they proved be our nemesis on
the night.
A 485 team total from Rushwick was too much for the Highwaymen on
the night where the Highwaymen had little luck.
Rushwick Cavalier 485 V Highwaymen 448
Highwaymen in tight encounter with Here House Bulls at the Anchor
Inn. Highwaymen end up winners by 4 pins . Bulls left 82 to win
but new kit may look big but is deceptively difficult.
Bulls end up 5 short of victory. Highwaymen take afortunate 16
point win.
Highwaymen 419 - Bulls 415
Highwaymen progress in first round of Doris Styles with an
impressive win over Bellmen.
Legs of 101 and 98 take game beyond the Bellmens reach . Adie
Price , Michael Price Gary Hanson and Jaime Rushton
all take spares to ease the Highwaymen to a decent team score on
the Portobello.
Next week Highwaymen take on Morganite at City Legion .
Don Hewlett will be facing us for first time since leaving the
Highwaymen during Summer.
Highwaymen were unable to defeat Morganite.
Despite bowling well,in patches,it was not good enough on the
night
as Morganite take off 5 spares to Highwaymen's 1 to secure 16-4
victory.
Morganite 451 - Highwaymen 429.
Highwaymen have now lost 3 away games on the trot.
Highwaymen played Barbarians (who top 2nd div Weds) in the
1st round of the King Pin.
It proved to be a convincing performance by the Highwaymen as No
1 bowler
Dean Banfield hit winning pins on last leg to secure victory at
the Alma Droitwich Road.
Highwaymen took on Old Rivals the Rams.
It proved to be a tight game with neither team taking command of
the game.
Again the Highwaymen took off fewer spares than their opponents ,
but in the end their consistency was enough to ensure victory by
the narrow margin of 5 pins.
Kevan Albone taking off a crucial 13 spare for the Highwaymen.
This gave the Highwaymen a 14-6 points haul.
Highwaymen 435 - Rams 430.
The Highwaymen have now won 3 out of 3 at home.
Next week the Highwaymen will try to break their away duck
against the New Raiders. New Raiders 482 Highwaymen 471
Despite putting up a superb effort the Highwaymen were undone by
the Spare taking ability of the New Raiders . Several good
performances , but the best was from Rich Franklin with
superb 51 . Unfortunately his efforts were not quite enough. Even
so 6 pts away at New Raiders is not the end of the world.
Highwaymen 448 - 402 Bellmen .
The Highwaymen produced their best Home performance of the season
in compiling a score of 448 and eventually getting a well earned
19 points . Noew all the team has to do is to win a few away
games.Just for a change the Highwaymen managed to out score a
team with regards to the number of spares taken
Highwaymen 411 - ??? Albert Hall
Highwaymen did enough to beat Albert Hall and thus progress to
the 3rd round of the cup.
It is never easy in these games where you are expected to win.
Especially after last year we lost to the Prince 'A' on the same
alley. No mistake this year with a solid team performance.
Scorpions 448 V Highwaymen 446
This was a superb game of skittles which produced 2 very good
team performances.
Initially Scorpions took an early advantage but the Highwaymen
hit back with 2 very good 90 plus legs.
This left the Scorpions the tough task of getting a high 90 plus
leg to level the game.
This they did in stunning style by posting a 105 leg and take the
advantage away from the Highwaymen
Highwaymen needed 95 to win but came up 2 pins short in
game which was not over until the one from last ball
Even when we play well we loose,But our bad performances are
being punished as well.
Speaking to some Scorpions players they said we could win the
league playing like that.
We certainly have the players to do that but this season we seem
to come up against teams hitting top form against us
Highwaymen 410 - 431 OUTLAWS
Highwaymen produced a lack lustre team performance in losing
to an Outlaws team who must of thought Xmas had come early
The Highwaymen never really looked like winning this game,
which the Outlaws always had the upper hand
New Castings 466 V Highwaymen 446
The Highwaymen did bowl well tonight as taking 6 points
indicates.
The Highwaymen were a few pins up after the 4th leg and looking
good to win the game.
But a massive last leg of 112 (i think) stunned the Highwaymen
team.
It was a well bowled leg and left the Highwaymen the unlikely
task of getting 105 to win.
We needed a good start and despite Dean Banfield getting an
early 9 the leg fell apart and a final leg of 77 never really
told the true story of the match.
One of the legs included some excellent bowling with hardly a pin
missed but when your luck is down
it is down and the Highwaymen are now involved in a relegation
battle.
The first time since the 1992-93 season.
Highwaymen ??? - ??? Rushwick Cavalier (Doris Styles 3rd
Round)
Unfortunately I was unable to get to tonight's match but the
Highwaymen
broke a run of 3 defeats with a 25 pin win over the Cavaliers.
Maybe it will be a Highwaymen cup season .
Next up is 3rd round of King Pin cup again against the Cavaliers.
In out last game before Xmas the Highwaymen swept away their
unconvincing league form with a demolition of Rushwick in the
Doris Styles.
Highwaymen 431 - 438 Tower All Stars
The Highwaymen played well in this game but they were unable
to break the recent stranglehold the Tower have had over the
Highwaymen.
Stan Ballard required a spare to win . Not only did he get a
spare he got a Massive 17 to rub salt into the Highwaymens
wounds.
Highwaymen completed a Rushwick double by beating them in the
King Pin 3rd round 5-1-07
Highwaymen 399 (17) V Freshmen (3) 396
This was a game neither team seemed to want to win.
If the Highwaymen lost this game they were in danger of slipping
into the relagation positions.
As it was the Freshmen only required a high 70 leg to win but we
were let off the hook by a charitable Freshemne Team
Fat Anchors 422 (2) V Highwaymen 442 (18)
The Highwaymen completed a league double over fellow anchor Inn
team the Fat Anchors. The Highwaymen played well tonight. The
Highwaymen never let the Fat Anchors into the game and running
out comforatble winners.
Highwaymen 435 (6) V Rushwick 446 (14)
Despite bowling well the Highwaymen were out played by an on song
Rushwick team.
Rushwicks consistency on the night was too much for the
Highwaymen who could have no
complaints. At least the Highwaymen did bowl reasonably well in
picking up 6 points.
Here house Bulls 434 (2) V Highwaymen
457 (18)
This was a performance reminiscent of the old Highwaymen .
4 legs of 90 plus gave no chance for the Bulls to recover from a
bad first leg.
This win taking the Highwaymen into a mid table position after
skirting with the relagation zone.
Highwaymen 433 (15) V Morganite 427 (5)
Highwaymen beat 2nd placed Morganite to give us even more
breathing space between us and the other teams below us. This was
a tight game but a solid performance was
enough to see us home tonight.
Rams 383 (18) V Highwaymen 345 (2)
This was the biggest defeat of the season foir the Highwaymen .
Despite our recent upturn in results the Highwaymen struggled on
the hard
Railway Club alley and in the end were heavily beaten.
No excuses tonight we did not perform as a team.
Highwaymen 453 (20) V New Raiders 416 (0)
Not only a superb result for the Highwaymen but it also gives
teams like the Scorpions & Morganite
some hope they can catch the New Raiders in their bid to win the
title.
Star bowler of the night was Keith Collins with an outstanding
50. He took 2 spares off
which in reality only go once every 10 times.
Jaime Rushtom formley of the Raiders also bowled well with a good
score of 43. This win shows that we can compete with the top
teams
despite our inconsistent form this season. This all bodes well for
next season
Bellmen 396 (2) V Highwaymen 439 (18)
7-3-07
A convincing win for the Highwaymen on what can be a bit of a
graveyard for the Highwaymen team in the past.
Scorpions V Highwaymen (King Pin Semi Final)9-3-07
A good day for the Highwaymen in defeating the SCoprions in good
style to set up
a exiciting final against fellow Wednesday Division 1 team New
Castings
Highwaymen (2) V Scorpions (18) 14-3-07
The Highwaymen could not follow up their semi final win and were
beaten by league title chasing Scorpions Outlaws (3) V Highwaymen
(17)
With the Highwaymen safe from relegation this game meant more to
the Outlaws who are still
in dager of dropping to division 2 . As it was the relaxed
Highwaymen gained a good win
to move them up to 6th place in the league after flirting with
the bottom 3 for much
of the season.
Outlaws 419 (3) V Highwaymen 441 (17)
21/3/07
Another good night for the Highwaymen in defeating the
Outlaws and ensuring a top six finish .
This looked highly unlikly after a dissapointing first half of the season but the 2nd half of the season has shown that the Highwaymen do hav ethe players to do well in next seasons league campaign.
Highwaymen 441 (18 V New Castings 420
(2) 28/3/07
The Highwamen will beplaying the New Castings in the
King pin Final and tonight showed that they will be a match on
the final night for the New Castings. Keith Collins bowled
brilliantly in getting top score and showed there is life in the
old dog yet.
Tower All Stars 445 (4) V Highwaymen 468 (16) 4/4/07
Tonight the Highwaymen got one up on their old rivals the Tower All Stars . Ovewr recent years defeats by the tower team have cost us winning the league title but good perfroamces by several players ensured a comfortable win for the Highwaymen.

On the High scoring Saracens Head Alley the highwaymen came out
on top
by 465 to 459.

Casuals and in

drubbing.
Next up were Worcester District team the Westsiders
.The Highwaymen were up against some famililar faces and produced
their
best performance of the tournament so far giving the Westsiders
their
first defeat in this league.
This was followed by an indifferent display with the Reckers
again trouncing us
on their alley.
The Highwaymen knew they had to win their last game in the league
to have any
chance to progress against the Westsiders.
In a tight game the Highwaymen edged home by seven pins to come
third in the league
Listed below are the matches in the group stage and the results
